Sunrise Service

Sunrise Service

This year, Easter actually fell during my kids spring break. Since school starts tomorrow for my son and Tuesday for my daugher we needed to travel home from Florida today. Leaving for the airport at 8:15 had me concerned about when I would make it to church. My mom mentioned overhearing someone talk about a sunrise service on the Naples Pier last year and we confirmed that yes there was indeed a sunrise service every Easter on the pier open to all faiths and hosted by a local church. So this morning we headed out in the dark and discovered something we hope we don’t miss again. The beach was packed, the pier was packed, there were loudspeakers everywhere and as the moon glistened on the water in front of us the sun was creeping up behind us. The setting could not have been more beautiful. The message was delivered by analogy of Ripley’s Believe It or Not and was truly moving. I love doing something for the first time at my age and attending a sunrise service was a first for me. Listening to the message confirmed that we should all Believe it and leave the Not’s for others. If you believe you should be living somewhere else or pursuing something else we would love to help you.
